Imihigo 2009
This year District’s Imihigo were signed during the 6th National Dialogue (17 – 18th December 2008). Emphasis was put on the fact that the concept of Imihigo or performance contract become a culture in all State Institutions as a tool to speed up the country development through result-based activities.






On the 27th of June 2009, a delegation of the office of the Prime Minister (Primature’s staff), headed by the Minister of Gender and Family promotion was in Eastern Province, Rwamagana District to visit a village of widows and orphans, survivors of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. During this visit, Primature’s staff also participated in community works (“Umuganda”) with local population and the army in what iwas called “army week”.
This Thursday, 25 June 2009, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Bernard MAKUZA proceeded to the official closing ceremony of the EAC Military Sports and Culture week. The ceremony held at Amahoro Stadium and was attended by many Government official especially from the army. In his remarks, the Right Honourable Prime Minister said that Rwanda was greatly honoured to host the event and he thanked participating contingents for honouring their noble profession during the last whole week.
On the 24th of July 2009, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Bernard MAKUZA laid the first stone to mark the kick off of the long waited Kivu Watt Methane to Power Project. The ceremony was held in Karongi District where the plant is to be constructed on the shore of lake Kivu. This power plant, being constructed by Contour Global, will increase Rwandan power supply of 100 MW; its first phase of 25 MW is expected to be completed by the end of next year, hopefully October 2010.
