On Monday, 06 July 2009, Right Honourable Prime Minister, Bernard MAKUZA officially launched Rwanda’s EAC Customs Union at a ceremony that took place at Kigali Serena Hotel.
On the 27th of June 2009, a delegation of the office of the Prime Minister (Primature’s staff), headed by the Minister of Gender and Family promotion was in Eastern Province, Rwamagana District to visit a village of widows and orphans, survivors of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. During this visit, Primature’s staff also participated in community works (“Umuganda”) with local population and the army in what iwas called “army week”.
This Thursday, 25 June 2009, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Bernard MAKUZA proceeded to the official closing ceremony of the EAC Military Sports and Culture week. The ceremony held at Amahoro Stadium and was attended by many Government official especially from the army. In his remarks, the Right Honourable Prime Minister said that Rwanda was greatly honoured to host the event and he thanked participating contingents for honouring their noble profession during the last whole week.
