On 16/09/2009, in the evening, in the premises of IMBARAGA Centre, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by farmers grouped within Imbaraga umbrella association of cooperatives who expressed their overwhelming joy to welcome among them the Prime Minister, as it was their first time ever to be visited by a Prime Minister. The latter told them that the Government of Rwanda commends and supports their work. “You deserve respect for your own endeavour” he added. He also seized the opportunity to announce them that IMBARAGA, an umbrella association of farmers’ cooperatives, has become a solution to problems identified in the agricultural sector. He commended them for their grouping into cooperatives for their own empowerment and expressed satisfaction over new technologies they developed themselves. He called on them to pursue their collaboration with research centres like ISAR, credit institutions like RIF and, more particularly requested members of IMBARAGA to be the driving force towards development “until the achievements of Imbaraga are replicated throughout the country and every citizen gets to make change his fellow citizen”. |
