This Friday 02 October 2009, Prime Minister Bernard Makuza received in his Office the Algerian Ambassador to Rwanda HE Aziria Abdelkader.

This was a courtesy call and at the same time a farewell visit since the Ambassador Abdelkader is at the end of his mission of 5 years as Ambassador of Algeria to Rwanda, to Burundi and to Uganda.

During the talks, the Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Algeria exchanged views on bilateral relations and some issues related to continental and international socio-economic maters as well as peace and security issues.

The Prime Minister and his guest highlighted the excellent relations existing between Rwanda an d Algeria. Those relation are translated by a convergence of views and positions on various issues.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the friendship and collaboration he benefited from Rwandans authorities during his term.

He expressed also recognition of the tremendous efforts made by Rwanda in many sectors of its development. He applauded the value of Mother Country love that is a precious and shared value by both Rwanda and Algeria.

The Prime Minister and the ambassador agreed on the importance of Bilateral Commission to meet soon. This meeting will be an occasion to reinvigorate the cooperation between Rwanda and Algeria in various sectors such as education, health, trade and investments and other opportunities to be explored.

The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his efforts to maintain good relations and wished him success in his new responsibility in Alger where the ambassador promised to continue to be an good friend and ambassador for Rwanda.
