On 21/10/2009, the Right Honorable Prime Minister Bernard MAKUZA received in his office Mr. Jean Louis (former Secretary General for Francophony Technical and Cultural Cooperation of Francophony) and Mr. Ousmane (Special Advisory of the Francophony Secretary General). In this meeting views were exchanged on various areas in which the Francophone Cooperation Department could participate in Rwanda’s development process. The Prime Minister welcomed their suggestions but also emphasized that there was need to focus on Rwanda’s own priorities such as investing in areas like ICT, sustainable environment, national culture, and other similar sectors. He also explained to the Francophony delegation Rwanda’s expectations in joining the Commonwealth but also remaining in the francophone community, as expanding the country’s interest opportunities. |
