Prime Minister attended the ordination ceremony of the new Bishop of Byumba Catholic Diocese
Gicumbi, May 14, 2022- On behalf of President Paul Kagame, Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente attended the ordination ceremony of His Excellency Monsignor Papias Musengamana, the new Bishop of Byumba Catholic Diocese. This ceremony took place at Gicumbi stadium and was presided over by His Eminence Antoine Cardinal Kambanda.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister congratulated Bishop Musengamana and pledged himGovernment of Rwanda’s support while fulfilling his duties.
Dr. Ngirente also congratulated the retired Bishop Nzakamwita and thanked him for his role in promoting unity and spiritual growth of Christians, youth empowerment as well as funds mobilisation for infrastructure development.
The Premier commended the role of the Catholic Church in the Country's development agenda especially in the sectors of education, health and family promotion, among others.
He reiterated the Government of Rwanda's commitment to continue strengthening cooperation with the Catholic Church to improve the resilience of our society.
