Prime Minister toured the Nyabarongo II Hydropower Project

Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva visited the Nyabarongo II Hydropower Project, currently under construction along the Nyabarongo River between Kamonyi District in the Southern Province and Gakenke District in the Northern Province.
Once completed, this multipurpose dam will add 43.5 megawatts to Rwanda’s national grid. Beyond power generation, it will support irrigation, strengthen flood control, enable inland navigation, and host floating solar panels on the reservoir capable of generating an additional 200 megawatts.
