Cabinet Communiqué of 10.09.2020

On Thursday, September 10th 2020, His Excellency Paul KAGAME, the President of the Republic of Rwanda chaired a Cabinet meeting at Urugwiro Village. 
1. The Cabinet approved resolutions of the previous meeting held on August 26th 2020. 
2. The Cabinet reviewed measures to further contain spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

All existing measures and guidelines shall remain in force with the exception of the following changes that will take effect immediately.  
a. Movements are prohibited from 9 PM to 5 AM.
b. Private transport between Rusizi and other districts will resume, in adherence with health guidelines.
c. Public gatherings, including conferences and weddings will continue in adherence with health guidelines, including negative COVID – 19 test (at own cost) and participants not exceeding 30% of venue capacity.
d. All tourists to national parks must test negative for COVID-19 at own cost. 

These measures will be reviewed after 15 days upon a health assessment.  
 
Citizens are reminded of the critical importance of complying with health measures including physical distancing, wearing face masks and hand hygiene. Penalties will be applied for non-compliance. 

3. The Cabinet approved the draft law governing the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB). 
4. The Cabinet approved the privatization policy and strategy. 
5. The Cabinet was briefed on the following:
- Evaluation of Imihigo 2019/2020 and planning for Imihigo 2020/2021
- Preparations for the upcoming agricultural season 2021A
- Hosting of international championships and participation of Rwandan teams 

6. The Cabinet made the following appointments:
