“Create jobs instead of being job seekers” PM Murekezi tells UR Graduates

Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi urged graduates of the University of Rwanda to think big, be innovators and create their own jobs instead of being job seekers so as to be successful in their future life. 

He was today speaking at a graduation ceremony, of 8,254 graduates from the University of Rwanda, at Amahoro National Stadium in Remera. 

Prime Minister called upon students who completed their studies to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives, through their professional careers or in establishing businesses. 

Speaking about the role of the University of Rwanda in boosting quality of education and economic development, Prime Minister said. 

“The University of Rwanda has a big role to play in order to boost and sustain quality education to impact on economic development for better future of our Country through technological and scientific research and innovations, industrial linkages, and services to the population.” 

Calling graduates to be change-makers, Anastase Murekezi pointed out that Rwanda, Africa and the entire world Community expect a lot from them. 

Prime Minister Murekezi promised Rwanda Government’s support to the graduates through the Business Development Fund (BDF). 

This graduation comes as the fourth graduation since University of Rwanda was formed after merging seven public institutions of higher learning in 2013.
