Ensure fair trial PM Murekezi tells Military Judges

Being attentive and impartial is a guarantee for fair determination of guilt or innocence.

The statement was made by Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi this thursday while officiating at the swearing-in ceremony of Lt. Col. Déo Rusizana and Capt. Gerald Ntaganira, Vice President and Judge of the Military Court, respectively.

Prime Minister urged the newly sworn-in officials to be fair-minded and make sure that even those found guilty are satisfied with the judgement.

“Be disciplined in everything and everywhere. A good judge, and most importantly, a military judge belonging to RDF, which is known for being highly disciplined, should display an exemplary behaviour.” Prime Minister said refering to Jundges behaviours.

Anastase Murekezi called upon the newly sworn-in judges to work hard and avoid court backlog by using technology in everything they do to ensure good service delivery.

Lt. Col. Déo Rusizana, and Capt. Gerald Ntaganira, who swore in before the Prime Minister as Vice President and Judge in the Military Court respectively were approved by the Cabinet meeting held on 26/05/2017.
