“Let’s fight anyone who instigate genocide ideology” PM Murekezi
The Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi urged employees of his Office to fight anyone who would try to instigate or propagate genocide ideology in Rwanda.
He made the remarks this Friday 21st April 2017 during the annual commemoration of 1994 Genocide against Tutsi organised by his Office at Kimihurura.
“For the Genocide against Tutsi not to occur again in Rwanda, we must understand the history of bad governance which characterised Rwanda, from the colonial era through the first and second Republics.” Prime Minister Murekezi said.
Prime Minister Murekezi added that it is also important to understand the history of liberation war (1990-1994) and the struggle to stop the Genocide against Tutsi in 1994.
“The effective remedy for true healing is to get over sorrow, resolve to lead a healthy life, think big and ensure that genocide does not occur again in Rwanda.” Anastase Murekezi said.
Anastase Murekezi called upon employees in his Office and its affiliated agencies to love eachother and be characterised by truth and denounce anyone who would foment genocide ideology among Rwandans.
This commemorative night vigil was preceded by a visit to Ntarama Memorial Site located in Bugesera District, which houses more than five thousands of bodies of Tutsi victims who were cruelly murdered.
The Office of the Prime Minister was also joined by staff from Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) and Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) in the commemorative night vigil for 23rd commemoration of 1994 Genocide against Tutsi held at the Office playground.
