PM Ngirente attended the Congo Basin Climate Commission
Kigali, July 18, 2023—On behalf of His Excellency, Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente virtually attended the Extraordinary Session of the Heads of State and Government of the Congo Basin Climate Commission.
In his statement, Prime Minister commended His Excellency Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo, for convening the meeting to discuss preparation plans for the upcoming Summit of the Three Basins of Biodiversity Ecosystems and Tropical Forests.
The Premier highlighted the need to continue working together to protect the Three Basins in order to sustain food security, public health and promote economic opportunities.
He stated that Rwanda supports the Summit of the Three Basins to join efforts and exchange knowledge and explore available opportunities for even more investments.
He stressed the need to have the cooperation agreement that will shape the three basins’ partnership.
