PM Ngirente calls for churches’ role in promoting family welfare

2nd December, 2017- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente attended the consecration of Saint Andrew Cathedral of Kibungo in Ngoma District, Eastern Province. He congratulated the Kibungo Diocese for having built Saint Andrew Cathedral and for having used local materials what falls in the program of the Government of Rwanda of promoting “Made in Rwanda”. The Premier hailed the Kibungo Diocese for its role in promoting family welfare especially in protecting young ladies against violence, promoting agriculture and farming, health, education and fighting against malnutrition. PM Ngirente further urged all churches to use the trust that Christians have in them and play an important role in fighting against all issues affecting the family like domestic violence, school dropout, non-respect of hygiene, drug use, prostitution and poor subscription to medical insurance commonly known as “Mituelle de Santé”. The construction of Saint Andrew Cathedral of costed 436 million Rwandan francs.
