PM Ngirente calls on Churches to join Government in fighting drug abuse

Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente urged chuches’ leaders and christians to join hands with the Government in the fight against drug abuse, especially amongst the youth with a view to raising good citizens and future leaders.
He made the call this Sunday, while adressing a gethering of government officials and church leaders who convened at the Kigali Convention Centre, in the National Prayer Breakfast.
Prime Minister called on churches and other Government partners to come together and support in the implementation of the National Strategy for Transformation.
“The Government of Rwanda cares a lot about the youth who constitute almost 70% of Rwandans. They are the work force and future leaders of our country. This is the reason why the Government continues to support the youth by providing them with skills and knowledge in the framework of building a Rwanda that has a knowledge- based economy.” Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente said.
To achieve this, churches, civil society and other partners are urged to instill in youth good values and serve as good role models to our youth, the Premier added.
The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that brings together leaders from different spheres of national life,  government, churches , civil society and the private sector to pray for the nation and its leaders, and sharing the Word of God not only to revive leaders’ faith but also to instill Godly values in their leadership.
This year’s National Prayer Breakfast themed “Instilling Godly Values in Leadership” brought together about eight hundred christians and other God beleivers.
