PM Ngirente officially opened the 12th Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-corruption agencies in Commonwealth Africa
Kigali, May 3, 2022- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente officially opened the 12th Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-corruption agencies in Commonwealth Africa, taking place in Kigali from 3rd to 6th September 2022.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister Ngirente noted that Africa is making efforts towards improving good governance and African countries are committed to addressing corruption on the continent.
He stated that Commonwealth Africa member states can make the difference in fighting against corruption through strengthened cooperation and effective accountability mechanisms.
The Premier also shared with participants Rwanda’s experience in preventing and fighting against corruption. In this regard, he highlighted the political will as a key factor to implement a zero-tolerance approach to fight against corruption in Rwanda.
He concluded by urging participants to come up with innovative ways to prevent and address the evolving crime of corruption as it keeps emerging in more sophisticated forms.
