PM NGIRENTE OFFICIATED THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 47TH PLENARY SESSION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OF LA FRANCOPHONIE (APF)
Kigali, July 8, 2022- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente officiated the opening ceremony of the 47th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) that took place at Kigali Convention Center.
While addressing participants, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of smooth collaboration between the Executive and Legislative powers for the interests of the people.
He noted that members of Parliaments have a fundamental role to play not only in promoting good governance, rule of law and democracy but also in the implementation and ownership of public policies by the population.
The Premier also stated that sustainable peace can only be achieved if countries manage to secure the underlying factors including food security, education, youth empowerment and strong health systems, all these supported by enabling infrastructures.
He noted that in Rwanda, significant progress was made over the past twenty-eight years whereby the national unity and reconciliation have served as an important pillar in consolidating and sustaining peace and security.
He concluded his remarks by reiterating Rwanda’s commitment to cooperate with all Member States in order to promote the fundamental values of La Francophonie, especially Good Governance and Sustainable Peace.
