PM Nsengiyumva officially sworn-in as Prime Minister

Kigali, July 25, 2025--- Following his appointment by His Excellency President Paul Kagame, Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva was officially sworn into office during a ceremony held on 25th July 2025.

In his inaugural address, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva expressed profound gratitude to President Kagame for the trust placed in him. 

He pledged to serve with dedication and purpose, prioritizing the well-being of citizens and advancing Rwanda’s national development agenda. 

He further affirmed his commitment to working closely with all institutions to ensure that no Rwandan is left behind.

Later in the afternoon, a handover ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, where the outgoing Prime Minister, Dr. Edouard Ngirente, officially transferred responsibilities to his successor. 

During the handover, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva reaffirmed his resolve to adopt a pragmatic and results-oriented approach, focused on delivering meaningful progress and long-term improvements in the lives of Rwandans.

Dr. Ngirente, in his remarks, extended heartfelt appreciation to President Kagame for the opportunity to serve over the past eight years. 

He also thanked fellow leaders and staff within the Prime Minister’s Office for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. 

He congratulated Prime Minister Nsengiyumva and encouraged him to accelerate efforts towards achieving the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
