PM opens the 23rd Annual General Assembly of the African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI)

Kigali, July 6, 2023- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente opened the 23rd Annual General Assembly of the African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) taking place in Kigali Convention Center from 05 to 07 July 2023.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister commended ATIDI for its contribution to sustainable economic growth in the continent, in line with its mission of transforming Africa into a prime trade and investment destination.

He noted that with the current global situation, ATIDI has an important role to play in helping the continent navigate the adverse effects of unprecedented global challenges.

The Premier shared with participants key aspects that need to be focused on if countries are to safeguard the economic gains and reduce some of the risks that are real.

These include creating and sustaining conditions that are conducive to private sector development, removing structural impediments that stand in the way of businesses, opening economies to market forces as well as lowering administrative barriers to trade and investments.

He finally reiterated Rwanda’s support to ATIDI’s mission of turning African risk into opportunities by providing Insurance and Financial products, in partnership with the public and private sector.
