Prime Minister attended the Rwanda Shima Imana 2024 Festival

Kigali, September 29, 2024--- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente attended the national thanksgiving festival “Rwanda Shima Imana 2024” at Amahoro Stadium.

In his address, the Prime Minister began by thanking the organizers of this annual event and emphasized its significance in bringing together Rwandans from various churches.

He also commended the strong collaboration between faith-based organizations and the government, highlighting their substantial contributions to Rwanda’s development over the past 30 years, particularly in key sectors such as education, health, and social well-being.

The Prime Minister specifically acknowledged the vital role played by churches in fostering unity and reconciliation among Rwandans through their positive teachings.

He urged Rwandans to be cautious of preachers with misleading doctrines that contradict the core values of Rwandans. He emphasized the government’s responsibility to protect citizens from those who seek to exploit them.

The Prime Minister also encouraged church leaders to adhere to required standards and ensure that their operations are conducted in a safe, lawful, and ethical manner.

In conclusion, the Premier called upon churches to continue their collaboration with the government in implementing its programs, especially the Second Phase of the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
