Prime Minister launched the Rwanda Finscope 2024 Report
Kigali, June 20, 2024---Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente presided over the launch of the Rwanda Finscope 2024 Report in a ceremony held at Kigali Convention Center.
While addressing participants, Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of financial inclusion surveys in providing valuable data that inform evidence-based policy and decision making.
He expressed the Government of Rwanda’s appreciation for the regular publication of the Finscope report every four years and noted its importance in promoting Rwanda’s financial inclusion landscape.
The Premier also commended the considerable increase in the financial inclusion rate from 93% in 2020 to 96% in 2024 and noted that this progress brings us closer to the target of achieving universal access to financial services.
He recognized the collective role of Government and stakeholders in ensuring that all Rwandans have access to affordable, useful financial products and services that meet their needs.
Prime Minister also called upon financial service providers to strengthen their systems for detecting financial crimes and identifying illegal or fraudulent transactions in order to safeguard the clients’ money.
He advised the general public to be vigilant and report all suspicious financial transactions as well as to engage only with licensed financial institutions.
