Prime Minister Ngirente addressed the COP26 World Leaders Summit
Glasgow November 3, 2021 - Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) World Leaders Summit that took place in Glasgow, Scotland from 1st to 2nd November 2021.
On November 1, Prime Minister Ngirente attended the opening ceremony of World Leaders’ Summit. Upon arrival at the conference venue, he was received by Elizabeth Truss MP, UK's Foreign Secretary and Patricia Espinosa UNFCCC Executive Secretary.
The Premier also participated and delivered remarks at the Action and Solidarity-The Critical Decade event hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Later in the evening, Prime Minister attended a reception hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and members of the Royal Family, to welcome world leaders to COP26. The event took place at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.
On November 2, Prime Minister delivered a National Statement during the World Leaders’ Summit and High-level segment of the COP26 Climate Change Conference.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Prime Minister Ngirente met with Hon. Alok Sharma MP, President of COP26 and participated in the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Summit.
