Prime Minister Ngirente attended the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4)
St Johns, May 27-30, 2024--- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4). This Conference took place in St Johns/Antigua and Barbuda from 27th-30th May 2024.
Prime Minister joined other Heads of State and Government in the opening ceremony of the Conference where he delivered the National Statement.
In his Statement, Prime Minister emphasized the particular vulnerabilities of small islands to climate change and called for special consideration in their treatment.
The Premier also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships for the prosperity and resilience of Small Island and Developing States.
On the sidelines of SIDS4, Prime Minister met with H.E Hilda Heine, President of the Marshall Islands and Ms. Rabab Fatima, the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States as well as the Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland, the Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
