Prime Minister Ngirente attended the Hamburg Sustainability Conference
Hamburg, October 07--- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente represented His Excellency President Paul Kagame at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, hosted by Olaf Scholz, the Chancellor of Federal Republic of Germany.
This Conference convened high-level policymakers, business leaders, academics, and civil society representatives to discuss the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prime Minister took part in a high-level panel session on “Putting Africa on the path to prosperity-in partnership with IDA. This panel also featured His Excellency Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of Mauritania and Mr. Ajay Banga, President of World Bank Group.
In his intervention, Prime Minister highlighted the efforts of the Government of Rwanda in increasing access to electricity over the last three decades. He noted that the remarkable increase was achieved thanks to partnership with the private sector.
Prime Minister commended the World Bank for the support to African countries through IDA and also revealed that the IDA replenishment will not only address the issues in developing countries but also those of developed countries.
