PRIME MINISTER NGIRENTE JOINED STAFF FOR THE 30TH COMMEMORATION OF THE 1994 GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSI

Kigali, May 03, 2024--- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente joined other leaders and employees from the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Infrastructure and Rwanda Law Reform Commission for the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. 

After laying wreaths on the memorial site located at the Administrative Office Complex (AOC) which serves as the premises for the Office of the Prime Minister and the aforementioned mentioned Ministries, the commemoration proceeded at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of civil servants who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.  He noted that this commemoration is an occasion to honor their memory and stand in solidarity with their families.

The Premier appreciated the dedication and sacrifice of those who stopped the Genocide, while also recognizing the efforts to rebuild a more prosperous Rwanda after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Prime Minister concluded his remarks by highlighting the importance of remembering while rebuilding the country. He emphasized the importance of maintaining unity among Rwandans to safeguard the progress achieved thus far and to continue building upon it.

Finally, he urged all Rwandans especially the youth to keep on fighting Genocide ideology and denial, while also striving to gain a deeper understanding of the Rwandan history.
