PRIME MINISTER NGIRENTE OFFICIATED THE TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 2024

Kigali, December 13, 2024---Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente joined, on behalf of President Paul Kagame, over 2,200 teachers from across the country for the celebration of the Teachers’ Day, in colorful ceremony that took place at Intare Conference Arena. 

Prime Minister started his remarks by conveying the message from President Paul Kagame who commends their dedication, hard work and their positive impact in the development of Rwanda.

The Premier also applauded teachers for their strong commitment to providing quality education, instilling good values, and shaping Rwandan young people into future leaders.

He particularly  thanked the teachers from Zimbabwe and the volunteer teachers from the Organization Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) for their contribution in the quality of education in Rwanda.

He also noted that teachers should be role models in their communities. In this regard, Prime Minister appreciated the transformative role teachers are playing in turning their Cells and Villages into centers of development and inspiration.

Prime Minister also said that the Government is accelerating efforts to address issues related to the lack of some basic infrastructure such as electricity, water and internet access in some schools.

He concluded his remarks by insisting that the Government of Rwanda strongly supports the teaching profession, and will continue investing in the improvement of the education sector.
