Prime Minister officiated the opening of 5th International Network for Governmental Science Advice Conference (INGSA)
Kigali, May 01, 2024--- Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente presided over the opening of 5th International Network for Governmental Science Advice Conference (INGSA), taking place in Kigali Convention Center from 1-2 May 2024.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister commended INGSA for choosing Rwanda as its Africa Hub and noted that it is a token of confidence and acknowledgement for Rwanda’s commitment to the use of scientific evidence in policy making.
Prime Minister underscored the critical role of science in tackling global challenges that are interconnected, complex and transboundary. He highlighted the importance of adopting comprehensive, innovative and transformative approaches to address them.
He revealed the efforts made by the Government of Rwanda in promoting science, technology, and innovation in all sectors/fields as crucial drivers for sustainable development in the country.
The Premier called for bold and strategic actions in setting the global science agenda to address most global pressing challenges and revealed the need to increase the capability and resilience of global science advisory organizations and national systems.
