PRIME MINISTER RECEIVED THE ORTHODOX POPE AND PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA AND ALL AFRICA
Kigali, October 29, 2022 – Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente received His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.
Their discussions focused on Orthodox Church activities in Rwanda.
His Beatitude Theodoros II was accompanied by Archbishop Innocentios Byakatonda, Head of Orthodox Church Rwanda and Burundi as well as other archbishops and bishops from the Great Lakes region.
The Orthodox Church started operating in Rwanda in 2011 and has seven branches in three provinces.
