“Quality education is a Government priority” Premier Dr. Ngirente

Today 9th February 2018 – Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente launched the Quality Education Enhancement Awareness Campaign in Manyagiro Sector of Gicumbi District in Northern Province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister pointed out that the Government of Rwanda takes quality education as a priority in the 2017-2024 Government program.
Prime Minister Ngirente urged education officers at sector level to make regular inspections to the schools management and report that to concerned authority.
“To achieve on the improved quality education, we need to address all the challenges that hinder it, like high levels of school dropout and repetition (which results into low levels of transition and completion rates), poor school leadership, poor school hygiene and sanitation, use of drugs and unwanted pregnancies among others.” Said the Premier
Dr. Ngirente added that the quality of education and education for all is one of the Government priorities and main actions to be achieved in the 7-Year Government Program (2017-2024).
Premier Ngirente further reminded that quality education would contribute to making Rwanda, a knowledge based economy. 
The countrywide launched campaign aims at reinforcing awareness of District Education Officers, Sector Education Officers, Head teachers and all education stakeholders to lessen education issues that hamper the quality of education.
Under the theme of "Good Learning Methods and Cultural Values are the Foundation of Quality Education " the 10 days campaign also targets public and private schools.
