“Quality of education, a Government priority” PM Ngirente
Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard has said that the Government of Rwanda has put in place strategies to ensure the quality of education is achieved.
He was speaking at the 6th Graduation ceremony of almost ten thousand students who completed their studies in various fields at the University of Rwanda. This ceremony took place on Friday, 8th November 2019 at Huye stadium.
Prime Minister pointed out that the Government of Rwanda has adopted strategies to boost and support quality teaching, learning and research at the University of Rwanda.
“One of the main pillars of our National Strategy for Transformation 2017-2024, is acceleration of economic growth and development founded on the country’s human capital” Prime Minister Ngirente said.
This invites us, as policy makers, and partners in the education sector, to work on the quality of education at all levels of our education system, in order to develop Rwandans into a capable and skilled labor force. Dr Ngirente added.
The premier also applauded the innovations that the University of Rwanda has introduced in teaching, learning, and research. He encouraged the university to continue and invest more in the same direction.
He commended the University of Rwanda for its dedication to move the country towards the knowledge-based economy.
He further challenged graduands to aim at impacting and transforming lives in the society, being role models, agents of positive change and serving the society with commitment.
