Resolutions from the 15th National Leadership Retreat

From 26th February to 1st March 2018, the 15th Leadership Retreat was held at RDF Combat Training Center-Gabiro, in Gatsibo District, Eastern Province.
This retreat was chaired by His Excellency Paul KAGAME, The President of the Republic of Rwanda.
In his opening remarks, he commended the progress that Rwanda has registered and added that a lot of work still needs to be done to get where the Country wants to be.
He recalled that the retreat is a self–critic forum for leaders to evaluate themselves against the set development milestones, and devise strategies aimed at achieving the country’s vision.
His Excellency the President of the Republic urged all leaders to continue to take necessary measures to address the remaining challenges in the area of social welfare of all Rwandans.
He emphasised the need for all organs to step up efforts to improve performance, collaboration, complementarity and accountability so as to fact track achievement of the set objectives.
In this retreat, the following presentations were delivered:
a) Where is Rwanda today in relation to the country’s development
targets?;
b) Discussion on fast tracking delivery;
c) Discussion on Fighting Corruption;
d) Prerequisites for transformational growth;
e) Transformation through enhanced urbanization and competitiveness;
f) Increasing Agriculture sector productivity for growth;
g) Education for a knowledge-based economy;
h) Improving the quality of health and ECD services;
i) Rwanda in Africa and Beyond;
j) Group sessions were conducted in order to assess deeply key issues and devise strategies to improve performance.These strategies will be considered in the implementation of NLR resolutions.
