Rwanda is committed to work with various partners to secure the future of Africa’s financial industry

KIGALI-June 20th, 2018: The Prime Minister officially opened the 25th SWIFT African Regional Conference. Themed “Transforming the future – driving a new digital economy”, the conference will discuss how innovation and technology can contribute to the brilliant future of financial services. For Rwanda, the Premier noted that “innovation and technology, particularly modernising financial sector will play a catalyst transformational role in the digital revolution of Rwanda’s financial services and the economy as a whole”.

For this reason, he reiterated Rwanda’s commitment to work with various partners to secure financial messaging services and shape the future of Africa’s financial industry and invited SWIFT to promote innovation and develop an ecosystem where technology in financial services can flourish in Africa.

This year’s conference will last three days. It has brought together more than 500 representatives of financial institutions, market infrastructures, corporations and technology partners from 53 countries.
