Rwanda receives the "World Travel and Tourism Council Global Leadership Award"

Argentina, Buenos Aires, 18 April 2018 – Rwanda was yesterday recognized for its efforts and exceptional commitment to sustainable growth of Travel and Tourism.
Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente, who represented President Paul Kagame at the 18th Global Summit on Travel and Tourism, received the Award"
In his acceptance speech, the Premier emphasized the role of tourism in Rwanda's development.
"Tourism is core to Rwanda's development and has become the leading source of foreign exchange earnings with an annual average growth of 11% over a five-year period." Prime Minister said in his acceptance speech.
He further stated that the award given to Rwanda is a renewed energy to the Country for achieving more in conservation, Travel and Tourism.
On the sidelines of the summit, Dr. Edouard Ngirente met with Mr. Zura Pololikashvili, the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization and Mr. Arne M. Sorenson, President and CEO of Marriott International. 
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and scaling up investments in travel and tourism sector in Rwanda.
