“The Government promises coffee price stability” PM Ngirente says

Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard urged coffee farmers to increase coffee productivity while promising them the price stability of their coffee production despite price changes on the international market.

He made the statement on Saturday after visiting Dukundekawa Cooperative and its coffee factory located in Ruli Sector, in Gakenke District, Northern Province.

This cooperative counts two thousand members and it is one of the well-managed cooperatives that has started adding value to coffee harvest since 2004.

“The Government of Rwanda will ensure that the price of a coffee per kg does not change despite various changes happening and affecting the international market.” Said the Prime Minister.

The Premier started his one-day visit at the construction of Nzove-Ruli-Gakenke road where he urged constructors to uphold the quality of the road, speed up works and complete the road on the set roadmap.

He also visited Ruli Hospital and Ruli Institute of Health. He expressed satisfaction for the health services that Ruli hospital offers since it features among the best hospitals with good services at national level.

Furthermore, during this visit the prime minister also visited Gatonde Hospital in Busengo Sector to see the progress of its construction works.

This hospital is expected to serve the population from Janja, Muzo, Mugunga, Busengo & Rusasa Sectors that were travelling a long distance to reach the nearest hospitals, such as Nemba, Ruli, and the newly established Shyira Hospital.

Prime Minister and his delegation concluded the visit to Nyundo IDP model village that houses forty families relocated from high-risk zones. He urged them to keep doing maintenance and upgrade in case any damage.
