World Bank applauds Rwanda for its high score in country policy and institutional assessment
Kigali, 3rd September 2019:
The World Bank Executive Director representing Rwanda, Ms Anne Kabagambe has congratulated the Government of Rwanda for having the highest score of all the African countries in the Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA).
This was said during a courtesy call that the World Bank Executive Director for Africa Group 1, paid to Prime Minister Ngirente this Tuesday at his office in Kimihurura.
During their meeting, they discussed about the assistance that World Bank has provided to the Government of Rwanda in what is known as IDA 18, which is a 3 years World Bank funding that will wind-up in 2020.
The exchange between the Premier and the World Bank Executive Director also focused on the new resources that Rwanda will benefit from the World bank IDA 19 in the year 2020 which is intended to support agriculture programs, investment in the digital economy, education, human capital development, energy program and urbanization.
During the last 3 years’ period, World Bank has been able to provide almost $ 1billion of assistance to support various projects that include agriculture, transport (roads), education and skills development, energy, urbanization and housing, social protection as well as fight against stunting and malnutrition.
