World Bank to support in Ebola prevention

This afternoon, Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente Edouard received Dr Hafez Ghanem, the World Bank Vice President for Africa who is in Rwanda on a work visit.
Dr Hafez Ghanem, the World Bank Vice President for Africa has affirmed that his organization is working hand in hand with the Government of Rwanda in the prevention against the spread of Ebola Epidemic from DRC.
He made the statement this Wednesday afternoon, after meeting Prime Minister Dr Ngirente Edouard in his Office in Kimihurura.
The World Bank Vice President for Africa said that his organization is now working with all DRC neighboring countries to make sure that Ebola doesn’t cross from DRC and spread to these countries.
Dr Hafez Ghanem added that World Bank is also supporting the DRC in the fight against Ebola virus that has killed 1,803 people in DRC according to World Health Organization statistics.
“We also talked about the good nutrition of children, we have supported the program to fight against malnutrition and in partnership with the Government of Rwanda, we are also restructuring a project to fight against malnutrition and ensure that Rwandan children get good nutrition.” Said Dr Hafez Ghanem.
Hafez Ghanem, an Egyptian and French national, is the Vice President of the World Bank for Africa since July 1, 2018. A development expert with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Ghanem leads an active regional portfolio consisting of over 600 projects totaling more than $71 billion.
